The Northwest Louisiana Council of Governments (NLCOG), in cooperation with the project team, has developed an extensive community involvement plan for the I-49 Inner City Connector Project. Public involvement is a critical component of the project development process. We encourage the public to continue to participate in the development of this project through the use of this website and by attending the Stage 1 Community Input Meetings. You can also provide comments to firstname.lastname@example.org and check back continually for updates as the project progresses.
Stage 1 Community Input Meetings
The first round of the Stage 1 Community Input Meetings was held in December 2011. The Round 1 meeting material and transcript can be found available below under the Round 1 Community Input Meetings heading.
The second round of these meetings was held on December 11-13, 2012. Each open-house style event lasted two hours and people were invited to walk through and view four build alternatives, two potential interchange (enter/exit) locations, and the no build alternative. All the items distributed at the meeting are available to download below under the Round 2 Community Input Meetings heading. Some of the file sizes are large and may take several minutes to download. An event summary of the second round of meetings was prepared that summarizes the meeting format, advertisement, attendance, and input received. Comment responses were also prepared for all comments received at the second round of input meetings and during the associated comment period.
Since the No-Build Alternative has now been added as the fifth build alternative, the project team has decided to add a third round of Community Input Meetings. This fifth build alternative, previously the No-Build Alternative, will follow the Inner Loop Expressway (LA 3132) from its interchange with I-49 to the future I-49 North/I-220 Interchange.
The third round of Community Input Meetings included six meetings between January 19-21, 2016. These meetings incorporated all affected communities and provided information on all five build alternatives for the I-49 Inner City Connector. All project information displayed at these meetings is available below under the Round 3 Community Input Meetings heading.
